Manny Pacquiao knocks down Chris Algieri in a dominating win

Manny Pacquiao did what we all expected totally destroyed Chris Algieri Saturday night. Even thou we did not get to see a knockout, Algieri was knockdown 6 times in a lopsided unanimous decision. Many questioned if Pacquiao power and quickness have diminished because of father time. Pacquiao has not scored a knockout in 9 consecutive fights. Regardless of the fail attempt to end the streak, Pacquiao gave a good whooping on the bigger Algieri.

"Yes. I am looking for a knockout but he is fast and moving, so it's hard to get Chris," Pacquiao said.

Pacquiao speed was too much for Algieri from opening moments of the fight. Algieri did a good job moving but could not avoid the quickness of Pacquiao. It was early in the first round that Algieri was in deep trouble when he was wobbled by a left hook from Pacquiao. And Basically the whole fight was the same, Pacquiao landing at will.

Now that Pacquiao displayed that he is still an elite fighter. Even thou I have given up on the idea of Pacquiao/Mayweather fight, the world is still waiting for almost 10 years to happen. If Pacquiao and Mayweather never meet, which will still draw the most money we have ever seen in boxing, it will be a permanent stain on both of their careers. It will be the first thing fans will think of when everyone talks about Mayweather or Pacquiao moreso than Tyson/Holyfield is the infamous ear biting.

"The people deserve that fight. The fans deserve that fight," Pacquiao said at the post-fight news conference. "It's time to make that fight happen. It's been a long time. I want that fight. They're always denying the fight. I think the fight has to happen.""
