During the NFL preseason it was revealed that Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Devon Still four-year-old daughter, Leah, is suffering from pediatric cancer. During the preseason Still was on the bubble on making the 53-man roster. Instead of releasing him, the Cincinnati Bengals decided to keep Still on the practice squad, and finally activated to the 53-man roster before their Week 2 game against Atlanta Falcons, so he could continue to be afforded the health care coverage his daughter needs to combat cancer.
All of this happened in the mist of the Ray Race and Roger Goodell scandal. There are feel good stories that we all
should pay more attention too. And Devon Still/Leah story is one that we
should all support as much as Still is supporting his daughter through the
darkest times.
Thursday Devon Still gave an inspirational pep talk to Leah as they head to pre-surgery in hopes of removing the cancer.
