LSU fans celebrate a win over No. 3 Ole Miss |
No. 3 Ole Miss and No. 24 LSU played a heart-wrenching game
Saturday night. LSU coming from behind, took a 10-7 lead
with just over five minutes to go. The last two minutes of the game is when the game got really
intense, and literally had fans hearts pumping.
In the final two minutes, Ole Miss was stuffed on a
quarterback sneak on fourth and one. Game over right? No, the Rebels get the
ball back with less than 1 min. Then again, another moment the LSU fans thought they
could finally rush the field to celebrate. The Rebel's quarterback Bo Wallace
threw what appeared to be an interception, but was called back due to a pass
interference call. The penalty gave Ole Miss the chance to line up for a
potential tying field goal from 42 yards, but was called for delay of game. The
field goal unit lined up again for a 47-yarder with 9 seconds left when LSU
coach Les Miles called timeout. That's when the Rebels decided to run a play
instead and Wallace threw his first interception in a Southeastern Conference
game this season, finally sealing LSU upset win over Ole Miss.
Soon after, the Tiger Stadium crowd of 102,321 steamed onto
the field celebrating the upset win over Ole Miss. The final two minutes was such an emotional
roller coaster, that a LSU fan in the stadium actually died from a heart
attack.
